Purpose statement

Donation to The Wesley Hospital was to facilitate the purchase of the state-of -the art palliative care cuddle beds along with the necessary accessories such as IV poles and oxygen cylinder holders. This has enabled the hospital to offer unparalleled comfort and closeness for patients and their families at the end of life. Donation to The University of Queensland is to assist in honouring the pledge I made to donate the sum of $1 million dollars over time to the University of Queensland to enable the Clinical Skills Teaching Centre at Greenslopes Private Hospital, (a joint venture between Greenslopes Private Hospital and the University of Queensland), to be fully equipped with the state of the art equipment for the clinical teaching of trainee doctors, nurses and allied health professionals. The University will account to the Foundation annually in November for funding required to maintain, to upgrade or to purchase new equipment. Once all needed equipment has been purchased, replaced or repaired, the University will forward a statement along with the receipts. However, money will be distributed to other charities for the purchase of needed equipment or medical aids, if in any given year no fund is needed by the Clinical Centre or if the Foundation has generated income in excess of the Centre s needs. Such distribution will be at the discretion of the Director of the Foundation. So far the Clinical Centre has trained many trainee doctors, nurses and allied health professionals. The feedback so far is very positive and as such, the Foundation has achieved what it is set up to do.
